Beltraith Capital, LLC, a syndicate led by Steven L. Sanders, has acquired a 55% ownership interest in StoneRidge Investment Partners, an institutional money management firm with more than $300 million in assets under management.
The transaction has created one of the largest minority-owned investment management firms in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the nation.
Under the new structure, Sanders will assume the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of StoneRidge Investment Partners. Pamela M. Harper will assume the position of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at StoneRidge and Philip H. Brown, II, formerly Senior Managing Director, Equity Portfolio Manager at StoneRidge will assume the position of President.
Founded in 1999, StoneRidge has a rich history as an asset management firm with a strong track record of performance that has tremendous potential for growth, according to Sanders.
“We are very excited about acquiring a majority interest in StoneRidge because of their strong, experienced and committed team of investment professionals, sound portfolio management process and excellent client relationships,” Sanders said. “This allows StoneRidge to continue as a ‘best in class’ investment management firm for today and into the future.”
No current owners of StoneRidge have sold any shares nor have plans to do so as a result of the new ownership structure, according to Brown, the newly named President.
“The shares acquired by Beltraith were specifically issued for this purpose and no changes to StoneRidge’s investment process or personnel are anticipated as a result of this transaction,” Brown said. “To the contrary, our collective strength will leverage additional resources to take advantage of opportunities that exist in the still unsettled financial markets. Specifically, the new ownership structure will enable StoneRidge to broaden our appeal to a more diverse client base.”
StoneRidge Investment Partners is a multi-product institutional money management firm offering equity and fixed income fund management to institutional investors. The firm’s current portfolio of products include: Large Cap Core Equity, Small Cap Growth Equity, Quantitative Small Cap Growth Equity, Core Fixed Income, Enhanced Cash and Government Cash Plus.
